In honor of the late DMX, Swizz Beats along with the Ruff Ryder’s label performed some of his greatest hits, along with special New York rap royalty guests.

For the DMX logo, we wanted to capture the ruggedness of DMX, but also keeping it very simple and easy to focus on. Creating a red chrome look on the DMX logo was the perfect way to portray that.

For the video montage- I definitely wanted to make sure I added in the most iconic moments of DMX’s career- the Woodstock ‘99 performance, the prayer circles, accepting awards- but also mix this with clips that were more rare, giving the Summerjam audience ne visuals and creating a sense of hometown pride.
